Christmas 2009

Christmas this year was in Stevensville with the Palmer side of the family. On Christmas Eve Santa came to Butte before we left. We had a great morning. I was up early waiting for Kambree and Kyle to get up. FINALLY after 8:30 she got up. She came out to see what Santa had left. I must admit, I did not get the reaction I was hoping for but she really loved her new table and chairs.

The night before Kambree set out some chocolate chip cookies for Santa. Those were a special request from the big guy himself :)

Her favorite toy that morning was the Mrs. Potato Head. I had no idea that she would like it as much as she did. She was so cute with her baby in its bed. She layed her down and threw a blanket on her and then walked around 'shooshing' everyone so we knew the baby was sleeping.

Kambree got the hang of opening her gifts. She would tear off the smallest pieces and then hand them to me or Kyle to throw away. Her favorite to open were the gift bags with tissue paper. After she got the gift out of the bag she would put everything back in.

Kambree loved her new baby 'Mimi' and her new Elmo slippers. We had a great holiday together.

christmas is coming

Well, I guess it's too late to post about Halloween since we are only a couple weeks from Christmas! Kambree is more and more fun every day. She loves the Christmas tree. She helped decorate it by piling all the ornaments on top of each other on one branch. I had to leave them because it was so cute!

She plays christmas music and dances all around the house. I will have to get a video of her dancing-it's hilarious! We did have a wonderful friend take some holiday photos for us so here is a preview of her awesome work.

I know, I know. I am sorry. I have not updated our blog in several months. I guess I just have more time during the winter when we don't go out and have as much fun. We have had a great summer, crazy but great. Coming back to Montana was a very easy move and we really feel like we never left. We have been working on our house like crazy. Little touch-ups here and there will hopefully help it sell in the spring.

Kambree had so much fun this summer. She really grew up. I feel like I don't have a baby any more. My little girl is so big. She is saying all kinds of words, running, and helping around the house. She found out she loves to swim. Every time she sees a body of water she does the sign for bath. Kyle and Kambree will be spending lots of time at Fairmont Hot Springs this winter.

Kyle is going to keep himself busy this winter watching Kambree and spending time with her. We are so lucky that he gets this year to do that. He is also hoping to do some officiating and maybe traveling around and spending time with the coaches in the area. I am plenty busy with all my students.

Since so many of you weren't able to be here for Kambree's birthday, here is a video of all the fun you missed.

I will try to do a better job of keeping this blog updated. We are getting ready for a trip to Boise and Halloween so I'm sure we'll have some cute pictures and stories.

June Update

Things at the Palmer House have been very exciting. Kambree is walking everywhere. She would rather walk than crawl. She is SO funny. She loves to play and laugh and talk....oh this girl can TALK! She talks to herself, her toys, her hand, the walls, anything.

She is such a good little girl. She is a wonderful eater. Too good, she's 10 months old and we have to buy her her own meal when we go out to eat. We have so much fun with her.
Right now we are calling her 'Count Kambree' because she has 2 fangs for top teeth. The middle ones haven't come in but the 2 outside ones have come in. It is very funny looking...

Since we are going back to Montana we decided to have some fun with Kambree and her friends. We got together to do some fingerpainting. Surprisingly it was not as messy as we thought it would be.

First Steps

So Kambree took her first steps a couple of weeks ago but we couldn't get them on camera. Well, today we did! Kambree is walking....a little :)

Montana

An unexpected trip to Montana at the end of April was a great time for Kambree to spend time with family and friends. The best part....I got to introduce her to the BEST taco pizza ever. If you haven't had Taco Pizza from Fireside, you are missing out. It should be on the list of 1000 things to do before you die.
Cousin Isaiah was so fun to play with. He was great with kambree. He loved giving her 'gentle' hugs. What a cutie!

She got her first real bubble bath. She took a bath in a giant tub with her 2 cousins Dylon and Heidi.....she learned how to splash from them!

Easter Party

We took Kambree to an Easter Party with her friends Jaxon and Hannah. She was all dressed up so we decided to go see the Easter Bunny. Surprisingly she did better with him than with Santa. She sat nicely and let me get a good picture. No tears at all!

They all had fun at the Easter Party. They got lots of treats and even had an easter egg hunt. They actually did much better than I was expecting with the egg hunt. We were looking for a good excuse for them to wear their Easter clothes so this was perfect.

Kambree got to try Peeps, giant rice krispies, fruity cheerios, jello, and pizza. Of course, she loved it all.

Chicago

When Kyle had to go to a recruiting event in Chicago, Kambree and I had to go along. Staci and Will were so nice in giving us a tour of the city. We ate Chicago dogs across from Wrigley Field, saw the sites and ended the day with Chicago style pizza. The only bummer was that the weather was so cold we really couldn't get out of the car. That just means we'll have to go back!

On the way home, we took Kambree to the Mississippi River. It was a good excuse to get out of the car and stretch our legs. Kyle and Kambree chased a goose and she thought that was pretty fun.

This is Kambree's favorite sound to make when she gets excited.

Congratulations Kyle

Kyle's team made it to the NAIA National Tournament. They were in Branson, MO for a week. The guys won their first game and lost their second. It was REALLY close. They lost to the #1 ranked team in the country. Kambree and I watched the games online and cheered for them the whole time.

It was a great season. We had a great group of guys to follow. We think next year will be even better. Congratulations guys!

Kambree doesn't have any new tricks lately, just keeping busy crawling around, pulling herself up on everything and exploring. She likes to have you 'chase' her. She laughs and crawls as fast as she can all over the house. She has been sick the last couple of days but I am hoping that means she is getting some teeth. I don't see anything but we think we might feel one....who knows! For Valentine's Day, Kyle gave Kambree this little outfit. He is a very good shopper. He picks out the cutest things for her.

We are going to a St. Patrick's Day parade with her friends Hannah and Jaxon. She always likes playing with them. She just watches them and checks out what they are doing. She is so nosey.

When Kambree and I went to Boise, Kambree was snuggled by Aunt Kris. She fed Kambree her first Cheeto. Kambree LOVED it but boy was it a mess! I'm glad Kris gave it to her and not me. I guess I'll have to stock up. Actually, Kambree loves just about anything she eats and she eats lots! Some of her favorites are applesauce, yogurt, and puffs.

Bathtime is always fun. Kambree loves her water hot and her toys chewy. She is still so small she gets a bath in the sink. It's so much easier to reach! I think she would sit in the bath all day if I let her. We have not done a bubble bath, yet. I think I'll leave that for her grandma.
She does like to get all bundled up and snuggle after her bath. She usually looks like a little burrito.

On the move

Since Kambree is crawling now, she moves all over the house. One of her favorite places to go is to the refrigerator. She likes to play with the letter magnets. She puts parts of them in her mouth and crawls away.

She likes to crawl out of the room really quickly. She will stop, turn to look at me and smile. She waits for me to say something to her and then she will laugh and crawl away as fast as she can. She laughs all the way.

She has been so much fun lately. Her new word is 'momma' It was so fun to hear her say her first word. She says it over and over all day long. I must say I encourage it because I clap and point to myself when she says it. Now we are going to work on 'dada'.

Kambree Crawls

Kambree just started crawling this month. This is a pretty typical crawling session for her.

Go Vikings!

Kambree loves going to Kyle's basketball games. Thanks to Grammy Patti she can go wearing the right thing. She is so interested in the game. It's almost like she is watching a ping pong game. She follows the players up and down the floor.

Her favorite part is watching the dancers. No matter what she is doing, she will stop when she sees the dancers start dancing. She will turn and watch them until they are finished. I can just picture her next year in a little cheerleading outfit right next to them dancing away! Check out her first (and very tiny) pony tail. It was so hard to get in I think I'll wait awhile to try it again!

Kyle's team is doing great. They are #1 in their conference with only 1 game left in the regular season. We are hoping that they will either win their tournament or get an at-large bid to go the the national tournament. It has been a fun season and it looks like it will be ending well too.

Swimming Lessons

Kambree had her first swimming lesson this week. Ok, really the moms wanted something to do to get out of the house. Either way, they were SO cute! Do you know how hard it is to find a swimsuit small enough for my little peanut!?

We played in the pool for half an hour. We just sang songs and splashed. It was fun.

Jaxon and Kambree have become good friends...... The water was a little cold. It doesn't help that Kambree likes her water really hot. She did really well and played but toward the end she was ready to get out. Jaxon, Kambree, Hannah, and Malachi are all going together. It is so funny to see them together. Kambree is starting to recognize her friends when she sees them and she likes to play with them.

Yep, that's Kambree screaming when we got out. Why do they schedule this kind of stuff during nap time anyway?

6 months!!

Kambree turned 6 months old! She has gotten so big (not literally!!) She is such a sweetie pie. She is crawling around. Kambree crawls like an inch worm. She gets where she wants to go but it takes her a little while to get there. That is ok with me....I don't really have to chase her yet! She has learned how to get things that are out of reach which makes me have to pay much closer attention.

She loves to eat. We are trying new foods every day and she likes it all. She has recently learned to pull herself up in her crib. The only bad part is that she gets up then can't get back down. That means in the middle of the night we have to get up and put her back down.

She has been so much fun lately. What a personality! What a drama queen! She is so social and loves to talk to everyone who will look at her. She laughs and squeels all day. She is ticklish and is so interested in everything.

Winter Days

I have not posted in a while and I felt like I should. The 3 of us have been keeping busy and warm. I hear that this winter in Iowa has been unusually harsh. It really doesn't seem too bad. It is cold but we are managing.

It seems like so long since Christmas but not much has happened. Kambree is still trying to crawl. I guess I am looking forward to when she can meet another milestone but at the same time, she is SO busy and into things now, I can't imagine what my day will look like when she is truely mobile.

She is such a sweetie. We will go in for her 6 month check up tomorrow. The time has gone so quickly and she is so different. I look at her newborn pictures and think of how far she has come. I am hoping that she is about 13 lbs at her appointment but I am not good at guessing. She seems heavier and she eats lots of food. I think she must have a hollow leg. She loves baby food and eats almost anything we give her. She doesn't like anything chunky or that has a texture other then smooth mush. She is so dramatic if she tastes something with a new texture!

We have been to lots of basketball games this month and Kambree loves them. She watches the boys run back and forth but her favorite are the dancers and cheerleaders. No matter what she is doing, she will stop and watch them until they are finished dancing. She manages to nap during the games when she is not socializing with everyone around her. Kyle's team is tied for first in the conference. Tomorrow they play the team they are tied with so it will be a big game. Of course Kambree will be there in her Grand View clothes (thanks Grammy Patti).

Kambree loves to play with anything she can put in her mouth. She is so silly and laughs all day long. She has a very short attention span so we have to keep rotating toys and changing position all the time.

She has spent lots of time with her new friends. She gets together with Jaxon, Hannah, and Haven every week. They are so funny to watch. they are all the same age and still so different.

Kambree is going to start swimming lessons next week. Actually, mom is going to have mommy time at the pool with her friends. I hope it's not too cold for both our sake's! We got a little 2 piece bathing suit for her-it is SO cute on her. I hear that the lessons are just a time for the babies to get in the water and play and splash and get used to it. They don't learn anything until they are 18 months old but it should be fun.

Funny Kambree

Kambree has been copying us lately. She always laughes when we do this to her. She is trying to do it with Kyle. (I can't explain, you'll have to watch the video) She is also watching us eat and chewing at the same time as we do. She looks like she is chewing gum all the time. She will stick her tongue out at you if you do it to her. She is so funny!

We are trying to teach her sign language so she will copy us with something useful. She is learning things like 'milk' and 'more'. We are also going to teach her to blow kisses. Hopefully the next time you see her, she can blow you one.

She is starting to give hugs and kisses. She will bend over and bury her head in your chest for hugs and of course open wide and give you a big wet kiss!

This is my grandparent post. I wanted to put up some new pictures for Kambree's grandparents to see. I guess the only new news is that Kambree is sitting up by herself. She is getting so big! She is trying so hard to crawl. She can hold herself up on her knees and hands and rocks back and forth but so far she hasn't moved. I don't know if I should be excited that she is learning new things or sad that she is getting so big. Her hair is starting to grow more. It is not quite as fuzzy and is getting thicker and longer everyday. She seems to be putting on some weight, I don't know, I'm with her every day. I think her face looks chubbier. We will go back to the Dr. at the end of January so we'll find out if all that baby food is doing her any good. So far she hasn't tried anything she doesn't like except pickle juice. She even tried a lemon and seemed to like it. I hope that means she is not going to be a picky eater.
