Winter Days

I have not posted in a while and I felt like I should. The 3 of us have been keeping busy and warm. I hear that this winter in Iowa has been unusually harsh. It really doesn't seem too bad. It is cold but we are managing.

It seems like so long since Christmas but not much has happened. Kambree is still trying to crawl. I guess I am looking forward to when she can meet another milestone but at the same time, she is SO busy and into things now, I can't imagine what my day will look like when she is truely mobile.

She is such a sweetie. We will go in for her 6 month check up tomorrow. The time has gone so quickly and she is so different. I look at her newborn pictures and think of how far she has come. I am hoping that she is about 13 lbs at her appointment but I am not good at guessing. She seems heavier and she eats lots of food. I think she must have a hollow leg. She loves baby food and eats almost anything we give her. She doesn't like anything chunky or that has a texture other then smooth mush. She is so dramatic if she tastes something with a new texture!

We have been to lots of basketball games this month and Kambree loves them. She watches the boys run back and forth but her favorite are the dancers and cheerleaders. No matter what she is doing, she will stop and watch them until they are finished dancing. She manages to nap during the games when she is not socializing with everyone around her. Kyle's team is tied for first in the conference. Tomorrow they play the team they are tied with so it will be a big game. Of course Kambree will be there in her Grand View clothes (thanks Grammy Patti).

Kambree loves to play with anything she can put in her mouth. She is so silly and laughs all day long. She has a very short attention span so we have to keep rotating toys and changing position all the time.

She has spent lots of time with her new friends. She gets together with Jaxon, Hannah, and Haven every week. They are so funny to watch. they are all the same age and still so different.

Kambree is going to start swimming lessons next week. Actually, mom is going to have mommy time at the pool with her friends. I hope it's not too cold for both our sake's! We got a little 2 piece bathing suit for her-it is SO cute on her. I hear that the lessons are just a time for the babies to get in the water and play and splash and get used to it. They don't learn anything until they are 18 months old but it should be fun.

Funny Kambree

Kambree has been copying us lately. She always laughes when we do this to her. She is trying to do it with Kyle. (I can't explain, you'll have to watch the video) She is also watching us eat and chewing at the same time as we do. She looks like she is chewing gum all the time. She will stick her tongue out at you if you do it to her. She is so funny!

We are trying to teach her sign language so she will copy us with something useful. She is learning things like 'milk' and 'more'. We are also going to teach her to blow kisses. Hopefully the next time you see her, she can blow you one.

She is starting to give hugs and kisses. She will bend over and bury her head in your chest for hugs and of course open wide and give you a big wet kiss!

This is my grandparent post. I wanted to put up some new pictures for Kambree's grandparents to see. I guess the only new news is that Kambree is sitting up by herself. She is getting so big! She is trying so hard to crawl. She can hold herself up on her knees and hands and rocks back and forth but so far she hasn't moved. I don't know if I should be excited that she is learning new things or sad that she is getting so big. Her hair is starting to grow more. It is not quite as fuzzy and is getting thicker and longer everyday. She seems to be putting on some weight, I don't know, I'm with her every day. I think her face looks chubbier. We will go back to the Dr. at the end of January so we'll find out if all that baby food is doing her any good. So far she hasn't tried anything she doesn't like except pickle juice. She even tried a lemon and seemed to like it. I hope that means she is not going to be a picky eater.
